Delta Vigilante Nabs Armed Robbers, Recovers Firearm in Aladja

In a swift response to rising insecurity and armed robbery incidents in Aladja, Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, the community vigilante group, assisted by local youths, has arrested four suspected armed robbers.

The suspects, identified as Kelvin Osgood Dukuye (25), Roger (30), Philip Faka (28), and Debi (32), were apprehended at various locations within the community while allegedly robbing residents at gunpoint. Among the items reportedly stolen were cash, mobile phones, and POS machines.

During the operation, the vigilante group recovered a firearm from one of the suspects. Following their arrest, the suspects were handed over to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Ovwian/Aladja for further investigation.

The suspects have reportedly confessed to their crimes, and some victims have come forward to identify them as those responsible for robberies in the area before and after the Christmas celebrations.

Despite efforts to confirm the incident, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, has not responded to requests for comment.

The arrests have been met with relief from residents, who have expressed gratitude for the vigilance of the local security team and hope for a safer community moving forward.
