Rashford Snubs Saudi Millions Amid National Team Ambitions

Date:

Marcus Rashford, the Manchester United forward, has turned down three lucrative offers from Saudi Arabian clubs that would have earned him £35 million annually, as he focuses on reclaiming his place in the England national team.

The 27-year-old has been approached by three Saudi Pro League clubs with contracts nearly doubling his current £315,000-a-week wages at United. Despite the financial incentives, Rashford has declined the offers, signaling his determination to compete in a top-tier European league to remain in contention for international selection.

Sources close to Rashford revealed that the forward is also not entertaining moves to leagues like Turkey’s Süper Lig, despite reported interest from Fenerbahce. Instead, he is considering options that align with his goal of impressing the new England coach after being absent from international duty since March.

Although Rashford had indicated in December his readiness for “new challenges,” he has not ruled out staying at Manchester United, where he is under contract until 2028. Despite his limited recent appearances—he has not played since being dropped from the squad for the Manchester derby in mid-December—Rashford is said to remain committed and optimistic about returning to action soon.

United, meanwhile, are open to listening to offers for the academy graduate as they navigate Profit and Sustainability rules and seek funds to support manager Ruben Amorim in reshaping the squad. Rashford’s future at Old Trafford could hinge on the January transfer window, but for now, his focus remains on playing at the highest level and donning the Three Lions jersey once again.
