Ronaldo Takes Home Two Awards at Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai

Date:

Cristiano Ronaldo had another stellar night at the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, where he claimed two prestigious honors. The Portuguese superstar was crowned both Best Middle Eastern Player and Top Goalscorer of All Time, following an extraordinary year with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo’s remarkable 2023-24 season included 44 goals and 13 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions, cementing his place as one of the most prolific players in the world. He also clinched the Saudi Pro League Golden Boot with 35 goals, outperforming competition from notable names like Aleksandar Mitrovic and Abderrazak Hamdallah.

This marks the second consecutive year Ronaldo has won the Best Middle Eastern Player award, a testament to his ongoing impact in the region since his move to Al-Nassr in 2023.

In his acceptance speech, the 39-year-old forward also shared his thoughts on life after football, hinting at potential future ventures. “I’m not a coach. I’m never going to be a coach, president of the club? No. Maybe owner of the club,” Ronaldo said, leaving the door open to further opportunities in the football business.

Other notable winners at the event included Lamine Yamal, who was named Emerging Player of the Year, and Vinicius Jr, who won both the Best Player and Best Forward awards. Luka Modrić secured the Best Midfielder award for his continued excellence with Real Madrid.

The 2024 awards saw a record-breaking 100 million votes cast from over 200 countries, further highlighting the global appeal of the event. The Globe Soccer mobile app also exceeded 1.5 million downloads, underscoring the widespread interest in the awards.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s dual triumph at the Globe Soccer Awards only adds to his growing legacy as one of football’s all-time greats.
