Governor’s Son Killed in Accident One Day After Grandmother’s Funeral

Date:

Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi is in mourning following the tragic loss of his eldest son, Abdulwahab, who died in a motor accident on Thursday. This heartbreaking incident occurred just one day after the governor grieved the passing of his mother, Maryam Namadi, who succumbed to a brief illness on Wednesday.

Abdulwahab was reportedly returning to Dutse from Kafin Hausa with friends when the vehicle he was driving lost control and overturned. Several of his friends sustained injuries in the accident and are currently receiving treatment at Dutse General Hospital.

In a statement released to the press, Chief Press Secretary Hamisu Gumel confirmed the news, saying, “With a heavy heart, Governor Umar Namadi announces the passing of his beloved son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi, due to a ghastly motor accident along the Dutse-Kafin-Hausa Road. The burial rites are currently underway in Kafin Hausa town in accordance with Islamic traditions.”

Abdulwahab is survived by his parents, Governor Umar Namadi and his wife, as well as his siblings. The spokesperson noted that this tragic incident comes just a day after the governor mourned the loss of his mother, Hajia Maryam Namadi.

The news of this double tragedy has sent shockwaves throughout Jigawa State, with many residents expressing their condolences and support for the governor and his family during this incredibly difficult time.
