Anambra Police Locate Abandoned Vehicle in Kidnapping Case

The Anambra State Police Command has successfully recovered the vehicle belonging to Mr. Justice Azuka, the lawmaker representing Onitsha North Constituency 1 in the House of Assembly, who was kidnapped on December 24. The recovery was confirmed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement issued in Onitsha on Thursday.

According to Ikenga, the vehicle was found abandoned on Upper Iweka Road as part of an ongoing intensive operation conducted by operatives from the Inland Town Division in Onitsha. The lawmaker was reportedly abducted by gunmen around 9:20 PM on Christmas Eve while traveling home on Ugwunabampa Road.

In light of the incident, Commissioner of Police Mr. Nnaghe Itam has directed the rescue team to intensify their efforts to locate and rescue Mr. Azuka, as well as to apprehend the kidnappers responsible for the crime.

The police command continues to work diligently to ensure the safe return of the lawmaker and to restore peace and security in the region.
