Anambra State Governor has officially signed the 2025 Appropriation Bill into law, marking a significant step towards advancing the state’s development goals. The N607b budget, themed “Changing Gears 2.0,” underscores the administration’s commitment to transforming the state into a modern, prosperous, and livable homeland.
The 2025 budget reflects a 48% increase from the previous year, with a focus on enhancing infrastructure, economic transformation, and human capital development. A substantial 77% of the budget, amounting to N467.5 billion, is allocated to capital expenditure, while N139.5 billion (23%) is earmarked for recurrent expenditure.
Governor expressed optimism that the new budget would drive sustainable growth and development, emphasizing that the state’s priorities would be guided by five key pillars: Security, Law and Order; Human Capital and Social Agenda; Environment; Governance and Value System; and Infrastructure and Economic Transformation.
“This budget is a testament to our administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and people-centered leadership,” the governor stated. “We are confident that this will position Anambra State as a beacon of governance, prosperity, and equity.”
The governor also acknowledged the Anambra State House of Assembly for their diligent work in passing the appropriation bill, highlighting the importance of continued collaboration for the success of the state’s vision.
With these strategic investments, Anambra State is poised for a year of significant development, paving the way for improved governance, infrastructure, and social welfare for its citizens.
