Ogunmodede tips Eagles to Beat Black Galaxies in Uyo

Date:

Super Eagles B coach, Daniel Ogunmodede, has expressed confidence that the home-based Eagles will secure a win against Ghana’s Black Galaxies in the return leg of their 2024 African Nations Championship qualifier.

The first leg ended in a goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium last Sunday.

Speaking after the match, Ogunmodede assured Nigerian fans that his team would finish the job in Uyo on Saturday, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.

“We knew Ghana were going to be tough, as I said earlier, but we knew we were good enough to get a positive result,” Ogunmodede stated.

“We showed bravery, and that is what Nigeria is known for. In the second leg, Nigeria will go for the win.”

Ogunmodede also harped on the importance of qualifying for the 2024 CHAN, stating that it would significantly benefit the NPFL, players, and local coaches.

“Qualification will add more value to our league, the players and the indigenous coaches,” he said.

Captain Nduka Junior also expressed confidence heading into the second leg, aiming to build on the draw in Ghana.

“We hope to consolidate on the result in Ghana in the second leg,” he vowed.

The winners of this final playoff will qualify for the delayed 2024 CHAN, set to take place in February across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
