Former U.S. President Bill Clinton is currently in the hospital for testing and observation after developing a fever, according to his deputy chief of staff. Clinton, 78, is receiving treatment at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Angel Ureña, Clinton’s spokesperson, assured the public that the former president is in good spirits and appreciative of the high-quality care he is receiving. Despite the hospitalization, sources close to Clinton have emphasized that his condition is not considered acute and he is expected to recover soon.
Clinton, who served as the 42nd President of the United States from 1993 to 2001, remains a prominent figure in American politics. His presidency was marked by both significant achievements and controversies, including the infamous Lewinsky scandal, which led to impeachment proceedings, though he ultimately survived politically.
Clinton’s wife, Hillary Clinton, who has also been a major political figure, ran for president in 2016 but was defeated by Donald Trump.
As of now, there is no official word on when Clinton is expected to be discharged, but his health is reportedly improving.
