Ademola Lookman has warned Lazio to expect a tough battle when Atalanta faces them on Saturday.
The Super Eagles star, fresh off winning the Africa Best Player of the Year award, scored in Atalanta’s 3-2 victory over Empoli on December 22, securing their 13th league win of the season.
The victory lifted Atalanta to the top of the Serie A table, ahead of Napoli.
Lookman said Atalanta’s goal is to maintain their position as league leaders, with a win over Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico crucial to ending 2024 on top.
“We are already focused on the next match,” Lookman said in a DAZN interview.
“Lazio is a strong team, and it will be a difficult challenge, but we know we can do even better. We will prepare in the best way, as always, to try to win this one too.”
The 2024 African Player of the Year also highlighted Atalanta’s collective strength, saying, “Our strength is the group.
“We are united, we work hard, and we always want to improve. Every game is a battle, and we try to face it with the right mentality. We are never satisfied.”
