A breakdown of the proposed allocation, which forms part of the N49.7 trillion ‘Restoration’ budget, shows that ministries including Police Affairs, Interior, Defence, Finance, Power, Works, and Budget and Economic Planning will receive substantial funds to drive national development.
Leading the pack is the Ministry of Finance, which has been allocated a total of N17.52 trillion, a significant 87.78% increase from the N9.33 trillion it received in 2023. The bulk of this allocation will go towards salary payments.

Lawmakers have praised President Bola Tinubu for his forward-looking approach and good intentions, noting that the budget aligns with the government’s goals for national growth and development. The budget is now set to be reviewed by the Committee on Appropriations for further deliberations.
The increased funding across critical sectors highlights the administration’s focus on improving security, infrastructure, education, health, and energy—all essential pillars for achieving sustainable national development.
