In a move to ease transportation costs during the festive season, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N899.50 per litre. This marks a significant drop from the N970 per litre price announced in November, providing much-needed relief for Nigerians as the holiday season approaches.
The refinery also introduced a unique holiday incentive, allowing consumers to purchase an additional litre of fuel on credit for every litre bought with cash. The credit offer is supported by bank guarantees from Access Bank, First Bank, and Zenith Bank.
Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, emphasized the company’s dedication to easing the financial burden on Nigerians. “To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. Additionally, consumers can enjoy credit-backed purchases to further ease fuel access,” he said.
The announcement comes as Dangote Refinery reaffirms its commitment to providing high-quality, competitively priced petroleum products that are environmentally friendly and safe for engines. The refinery also reiterated its role in ending Nigeria’s reliance on substandard and blended imported products, which pose risks to health, machinery, and the environment.
With a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, Dangote Refinery is the largest single-train refinery in the world. It has the capability to meet all of Nigeria’s refined petroleum product needs, with surplus capacity available for export.
As Nigerians prepare for the holiday season, this price reduction and added credit option are expected to bring relief and support during a period of increased transportation demand.
