Infrastructure, Health, Education Get Boost in Tinubu’s ₦47.9Tr 2025 Budget

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has presented a ₦47.9 trillion budget proposal for the 2025 fiscal year to the National Assembly, emphasizing restoration, peace, and economic recovery. Dubbed “The Restoration Budget: Securing Peace, Rebuilding Prosperity,” the proposal outlines strategic allocations aimed at addressing Nigeria’s critical challenges.

During the presentation on Wednesday, Tinubu highlighted that the lion’s share of the budget—₦4.91 trillion—has been allocated to Defence and Security, underscoring the government’s commitment to tackling the nation’s security challenges. Infrastructure follows closely with ₦4.06 trillion, while Education and Health sectors are set to receive ₦3.52 trillion and ₦2.48 trillion, respectively.

The budget reflects Tinubu’s vision to ensure sustainable development while rebuilding critical sectors to promote stability and prosperity. Speaking to the joint session of the National Assembly, the President stressed the importance of restoring citizens’ trust through strategic investments in infrastructure and social services.

The proposal was met with heightened anticipation, with security bolstered around the National Assembly complex for the event. Lawmakers and stakeholders applauded the focus on Defence and infrastructure, key areas pivotal to national development.

This budget marks another bold step in Tinubu’s economic reform agenda, setting the stage for transformative initiatives aimed at fostering peace, education, and public health in the coming fiscal year.
