Manchester United have made fresh contact over a potential move for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen as they seek to bolster their attacking options.
The 25-year-old, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, has impressed with 10 goals and 5 assists in 13 appearances across all competitions this season. New United manager Ruben Amorim is reportedly keen on Osimhen, following the struggles of forwards Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee.
Sources close to the negotiations, however, suggest that Juventus are leading the race for Osimhen, with the Serie A club viewing him as a replacement for Dusan Vlahovic. Having previously found success in Italy, Osimhen is believed to favor a return to the league.
Premier League rivals Arsenal are also showing interest in the Nigerian, with former player Emmanuel Petit urging the Gunners to secure his signature in January. Additionally, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring the situation closely. PSG could make a move if Marcus Rashford, who is reportedly a target for the French champions, departs Manchester United.
Osimhen’s future is further complicated by a €75m release clause. Napoli director Giovanni Manna recently downplayed the speculation, telling DAZN, “Victor is owned by Napoli and currently playing for Galatasaray. Nobody has spoken to us, and nothing is happening.”
The Nigerian’s loan deal with Turkish league leaders Galatasaray includes a January break clause, allowing for a potential mid-season transfer. Despite interest from top European clubs, Osimhen’s next move remains uncertain as Manchester United, Juventus, Arsenal, Chelsea, and PSG continue to vie for his signature.
