Yahaya Bello Secures ₦500m Bail Over Alleged ₦80.2bn Fraud

The Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday approved bail for Yahaya Bello, the former Governor of Kogi State, who is facing allegations of fraud involving ₦80.2 billion.

Justice Emeka Nwite, presiding over the case, granted Bello bail in the sum of ₦500 million. The bail conditions include the provision of two sureties.

In delivering the ruling, Justice Nwite emphasized that the decision to grant bail falls under the court’s discretion. Further proceedings in the trial are expected to address the charges, which include money laundering and misappropriation of public funds.
