Iwobi credits music, charity work for EPL form

Date:

Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi is enjoying the most prolific start to a Premier League season in his career, and he credits his personal expression — through his hairstyle, music, and charity work—as key factors behind his success on the pitch.

The Nigeria international has scored five goals already this season, surpassing his previous best in just a few months.

For Iwobi, this personal growth goes beyond football. His multi-colored braids, which he describes as a way to “express yourself,” reflect a broader journey of self-expression that he has embraced in recent years.

“My dad didn’t like the hair color at first, but now he’s accepted it. It’s my way of standing out and being myself,” Iwobi explains.

This season’s form comes as Iwobi continues to explore his other passions, including music and fashion.

He recently released his debut single, “Don’t Shoot,” followed by “What’s Luv?”, blending Afro-Swing and rap. The track has found its way into the Fulham dressing room, where even manager Marco Silva enjoys the beat.

“It’s nice to have a manager who gives you the confidence to express yourself,” Iwobi says, crediting Silva for his growth at Fulham.

Iwobi’s success isn’t just about personal expression — it’s also rooted in giving back.

As Fulham gears up for a challenging match against Premier League leaders Liverpool at Anfield, Iwobi is confident that his focus on both personal and team growth will continue to drive his success.

“We’re not scared of anyone. We are going to Anfield to get a result,” he insists.
