Bayer Leverkusen have tabled a new contract offer that would elevate Victor Boniface to one of the club’s highest earners.
The 23-year-old Super Eagles striker currently earns €3 million annually. His current deal with the German Bundesliga leaders runs until 2028, but the club aims to extend it by an additional year, through 2029.
According to transfer expert Patrick Berger, negotiations over the new contract are already in advanced stages. The proposed deal not only includes a higher salary but also performance-related bonuses.
Boniface is reportedly open to the extension, as he is content at Leverkusen and envisions his medium-term future with the club.
“Bayer Leverkusen is in talks with Victor Boniface about an early extension from 2028 to 2029 – at the same time, this would be linked to a salary increase and adjustment according to his performance,” Berger posted on X.
“No pressure on either side. Talks are ongoing. Clubs from England – including Manchester United – are interested. But the currently injured attacker is happy with the Werkself and sees his medium-term future in the Rhineland.”
Boniface has delivered an impressive performance this season, netting eight goals and providing one assist in 15 appearances. However, he is currently sidelined with a thigh injury.
