Real Madrid has reportedly expressed interest in signing Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot as an alternative to Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The LaLiga club’s pursuit of Alexander-Arnold has faced significant obstacles, with Liverpool sitting at the top of the Premier League and the player being deeply connected to his boyhood club.
Dalot, valued at approximately £41m by Real Madrid, has emerged as a strong candidate for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
The 25-year-old Portuguese international has been a key figure for Manchester United, making 178 appearances since his arrival and earning Player of the Year honors from his teammates last season.
During the 2023-24 campaign, Dalot showcased his importance, starting in 35 out of 38 Premier League games and scoring twice.
Although Dalot is under contract with Manchester United until 2027, Real Madrid reportedly approached the club during Erik ten Hag’s tenure.
New United manager Ruben Amorim is expected to evaluate his squad, but Dalot remains a likely mainstay in the team.
