NYSC Eases Rules on Married Female Corpers

Date:

The NYSC Headquarters has issued a new directive to State Coordinators regarding the deployment of married female Corps Members who have not yet changed their maiden names to their spouses’ names.

The circular, dated November 25, 2024, announces a review of the criteria for concessional deployment and relocation approvals for married female Corps Members.

According to the circular, State Coordinators are now required to follow the updated guidelines in processing relocation requests:

  1. Changing a maiden name to that of a spouse is no longer a prerequisite for approving relocation requests for married female Corps Members.
  2. All other requirements remain unchanged.

The directive emphasizes that State and FCT Coordinators must ensure full compliance with these updated guidelines, while Directors at Area Offices are tasked with overseeing the implementation process.

The circular was issued by Abubakar Mohammed, Director of Corps Mobilization, on behalf of the NYSC Director General.
