Salah Pressures Liverpool for New Contract: “I’m More Out Than In”

Date:

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has heightened speculation about his future, revealing frustration over the lack of a new contract offer. The 32-year-old’s current deal expires next summer, and he admitted the uncertainty is weighing on him.

Speaking after his two-goal performance in Liverpool’s 1-1 draw at Southampton, Salah said:

“Well, it’s almost December, and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay at the club. I’m probably more out than in. I’m not retiring anytime soon, so I’m focusing on the season, aiming to win the Premier League and hopefully the Champions League. But I’m disappointed. We’ll see what happens.”

Salah emphasized his deep connection with Liverpool fans but acknowledged the decision isn’t in his hands.

“I love the fans, and they love me. But ultimately, this isn’t something either of us can control. I’ve been at this club for many years, and there’s no place like it. Yet, it’s December, and there’s been no communication about my future,” he added.
Interest from Saudi Pro League Looms

Liverpool rejected offers of up to £150 million from the Saudi Pro League earlier this year, and rumors of a potential move continue to swirl. Asked about a possible transfer to the Middle East, Salah declined to comment directly.

“I’m focused on the team right now. I’m a professional, and my work ethic speaks for itself. I’ll keep playing at the top level for as long as I can,” he said.
Key Contract Decisions Await Liverpool

Salah isn’t the only Liverpool star nearing the end of his contract. Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are also set to become free agents next summer. While Van Dijk recently confirmed that talks have begun, Alexander-Arnold has remained silent amid reported interest from Real Madrid.

Salah’s incredible record of 223 goals and 99 assists in 367 appearances for Liverpool underlines his significance to the team. However, his candid comments have cast a shadow over his future at Anfield, with fans anxiously awaiting news of a potential renewal.

“I’m just doing my best for the club and for myself. We’ll see what happens next,” Salah concluded.
