WAFCON 2025: Nigeria Drawn with Tunisia, Algeria, Botswana

Date:

The Super Falcons have been drawn into Group B for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where they will face Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana.

The tournament is set to take place from July 5 to 26, 2025.

The draw occurred on Friday at the Mohammed VI Sport Center in Sale, Morocco, with Confederation of African Football President Patrice Motsepe in attendance.

Motsepe is also scheduled to attend the CAF Women’s Champions League Final in El Jadida.

A total of 12 teams will compete for continental glory and a share of the increased prize pool.

The nine-time African champions, the Super Falcons, will look to extend their dominant record in the competition.

The top two teams from each group, along with the two best third-placed teams, will progress to the quarter-finals.

CAF has raised the prize money for the 2025 tournament, with the winners set to receive $600,000, the runners-up $400,000, and the third-place finishers $350,000.

Even teams that finish last in their groups will receive participation prize money.

WAFCON 2025 promises to be a highly competitive event as African teams vie for the prestigious title.
